From May 18 to 20, 2026, Czech Semicon Days brought together companies, knowledge institutions, public organizations, and innovation partners in Prague, Brno, and Ústí. The event focused on 'Semiconductors for future mobility' and provided a space for knowledge sharing, international meetings, and discussions on the development of the semiconductor sector in Europe.

For ChipNL Competence Centre (ChipNL CC), participation in Czech Semicon Days was a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the connection between the Dutch and Czech semicon ecosystem. During the event, ChipNL CC highlighted the Dutch ecosystem, focusing on how startups, scale-ups, and SMEs can find their way in the European semicon landscape.
Collaboration between the Netherlands and Czechia
The discussions during Czech Semicon Days showed that there are clear points for further collaboration between the Netherlands and Czechia. Three substantive themes emerged: equipment, chip design, and advanced packaging.
These themes align with the broader development of the European semiconductor sector. By better connecting knowledge, networks, and practical experience, national ecosystems can strengthen each other and better connect to European opportunities and initiatives.
Connecting within the European network
The exchange with, among others, CzechInvest, Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, and Czech Semiconductor Centre underlined the importance of open cooperation within Europe. CzechInvest organized Czech Semicon Days 2026, with the involvement of various partners from the Czech and international semicon ecosystem.
ChipNL CC is part of the European network of Chips Competence Centres. Within this network, ChipNL CC helps Dutch companies and knowledge institutions to better find relevant expertise, partners, facilities, and European initiatives. The European semicon landscape can be complex, especially for startups, scale-ups, and SMEs. ChipNL CC helps to provide structure, build connections, and lower the threshold to international cooperation.
Towards further collaboration
Czech Semicon Days offered a valuable basis for further discussions between the Dutch and Czech semicon ecosystem. The shared interest in equipment, chip design, and advanced packaging forms a concrete starting point to explore where collaboration can be deepened.
For ChipNL CC, this step fits within a broader European mandate: contributing to a stronger, better-connected, and more resilient semicon ecosystem. By actively sharing knowledge and collaborating with other competence centres and ecosystem organizations, ChipNL CC contributes to the visibility and connection of the Dutch semicon ecosystem within Europe.
