On June 4 and 5, 2026, the III Valencia Silicon Forum will bring together international experts, companies, knowledge institutions, and organizations from the European semiconductor ecosystem in Valencia. The 2026 edition focuses, among other things, on talent, investments, and the future of the European Chips Act 2.0.

On behalf of ChipNL Competence Centre, Nick Hol participates in an international panel on European Chips Competence Centres. The central question is how competence centres can contribute to talent development, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the European semiconductor sector.

About the Valencia Silicon Forum

The Valencia Silicon Forum is an international meeting on microchips, semiconductors, and talent development. The third edition takes place on June 4 and 5, 2026, at CaixaForum València and brings together more than 400 representatives from industry, government, knowledge institutions, and international organizations.

The 2026 edition focuses on current developments in Europe, including the future European Chips Act 2.0 and the question of how Europe can further strengthen its position in microelectronics and semiconductors. Talent development plays an important role in this, as the sector needs more specialized professionals in the coming years.

ChipNL CC in the Competence Centres panel

During the forum, Nick Hol participates on behalf of ChipNL CC in a roundtable with representatives from other European Chips Competence Centres, including Portugal, Austria, and Spain. This panel discusses international workforce development for semiconductors and the role that competence centres can play in it.

The session aligns well with the role of ChipNL CC as a Dutch semiconductor hub within the European network of competence centres. By exchanging knowledge and experiences with other European centers, ChipNL CC contributes to a better-connected ecosystem for talent, innovation, and collaboration.

Why this is relevant

Talent is one of the biggest challenges for the European semiconductor sector. Companies, knowledge institutions, and ecosystems increasingly work across borders to make the right knowledge, skills, and training routes available.

For ChipNL CC, participating in this panel is a valuable opportunity to bring in Dutch practical experience and at the same time learn from other European competence centres. In this way, we strengthen the connection between national initiatives and European collaboration.
