On September 16, 2026, the Flanders Semiconductor Forum will take place at the Lamot Conference Center in Mechelen. Within the DISCOVER program, representatives from all five Chips JU pilot lines and from the European Chips Design Platform (EuroCDP) will present themselves at one location. This is a rare opportunity for companies and researchers who want to know which European infrastructure is accessible to them: normally, these initiatives are spread across different countries and events. The forum is organized by FC3 - Flanders Chips Competence Center and Flanders Semiconductors. Participation is free of charge. ChipNL CC shares this event because it is relevant to the Dutch semiconductor ecosystem.
The DISCOVER program brings together the European pilot lines and the design platform set up by the EU Chips Act. These initiatives provide companies, startups, SMEs, and research organizations access to facilities, technology, and expertise that are difficult to organize individually.
The following initiatives are present:
NanoIC pilot line — supports the development and commercialization of systems-on-chip beyond 2 nm.
FAMES Pilot Line — develops advanced FD-SOI technology for a stable European supply of next-generation semiconductors.
APECS Pilot Line — focuses on advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration.
WBG Pilot Line | future power electronics — focuses on wide bandgap semiconductor technology for power electronics.
PIXEurope — focuses on advanced photonic integrated circuits (PIC).
EuroCDP - EU Chips Design Platform — provides startups, SMEs, researchers, and innovators access to IC design tools, IP, training, and manufacturing services.
During presentations and networking moments, each initiative will highlight what they offer, how companies and researchers can access the services, the collaboration opportunities available, and how this European infrastructure can contribute to innovation projects.
